Sansula basic

The Sansula was developed by the German manufacturer Hokema and is an evolution of traditional African thumb pianos, such as the Kalimba. It consists of a wooden body with a stretched membrane, which in the Sansula Basic is made of cellulose. Metal tines are attached to the membrane, which produce different notes when plucked with the fingers. These notes are soft, resonant, and have a warm sound. The wooden body is shaped to form a resonant soundbox, and the membrane ensures optimal sound development. The sound volume is thus significantly higher than with a regular Kalimba.

Playing the Sansula Basic intuitively is very simple: You can pluck the sound tines with your thumbs to create beautiful melodies and harmonious sounds. The delicate notes that emerge invite you to be guided by the moment and create your own melody. Due to its easy playability, the Sansula is suitable for experienced musicians as well as beginners.
